Virgin Islands, U.S. 30% open

The U.S. Virgin Islands are an insular area of the United States of America and therefore get some services from the United States. The U.S. Geological Survey maintains a map of the islands and is for these purposes regarded as an official government source.

The government of U.S. Virgin Islands do not create, maintain nor publish maps on their own.

The buget is downloadable in full as a PDF document. The latest budget, for 2015, is available although the budget for 2014 is not.

The U.S. Virgin Islands are an insular area of the United States of America and as such are subject to federal legislation. However the U.S. Virgin Islands have a legislative authority similar to the states of the U.S.A and the legislation of that legislative body: http://www.legvi.org is what is used as basis, not the United States of America legislation.

There are indications that expenditure (and revenue) are collected so the data exists, e.g. the legislative arm publishes aggregated expenditure data (quarterly report): http://www.legvi.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=529&Itemid=208 and the internal revenue bureau publishes revenues: http://www.vibir.gov/Collection.html but these are independent efforts it seems.

According to the division of Environmental Control the data is collected on a weekly basis: http://dpnr.vi.gov/environmental-protection/air-pollution-control/ but it is not released to the general public except perhaps upon inquiry.

The information does not seem to available in general. Something can be found on a tourist site: http://www.vinow.com/ which does give a hint at a time table for each island, e.g. for St. Croix: http://www.vinow.com/stcroix/getting_around_stx/

However this cannot be regarded as official information and furthermore the tourist site claims: "The Bus System is not very reliable, if you are limited in time it is not recommendable."

The postcodes do exist and the U.S. Virgin Islands are serviced by the United States Postal Service (who use the code VI for domestic mail and zip codes in the 008xx series) according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Virgin_Islands#Transportation_and_communications

These zip codes are not maintained along with other zipcodes in by the U.S. Census Bureau like for the U.S. states. Websites of cabinet departments which might have this data are all inaccessible.
