The U.S. Virgin Islands are an insular area of the United States of America and as such are subject to federal legislation. However the U.S. Virgin Islands have a legislative authority similar to the states of the U.S.A and the legislation of that legislative body: http://www.legvi.org is what is used as basis, not the United States of America legislation.
