Air quality data is gathered by regional councils and aggregated by Ministry for the Environment annually. Some councils, such as ECAN, make realtime air quality data available (see http://data.ecan.govt.nz/Catalogue/Search?Query=&CollectionId=4 ).

The 2014 report "includes data to 2012. Data for 2013 was not available for all our national indicators and case studies, or could not be collected, validated, and analysed in time to meet our publication schedule."

Postcode data is managed by NZ Post, a state-owned enterprise, with a commercial model. The Postcode Network File is $400-$2100/year depending on use and the license restricts reuse.

There are a lot of long-distance (national-level) coach services offered by private companies (Intercity, Naked Bus, for example). The NZ Transport Agency is the regulator for land transport and provides licenses for operating long-distance buses (http://www.nzta.govt.nz/commercial/passenger/types.html). Currently they don't provide any timetable data on long-distance transport, though. The long-distance bus companies provide timetables on their website, these are not unified in one database, though. Also, it is currently difficult to know, which long-distance coach services with regular timetables exist as there is no registry of all available services.

The national rail network is limited and there are no published data sets, just timetables. Data is provided in non-machine readable format - just HTML.

Metlink data covers Wellington region and is available in GTFS format at http://www.metlink.org.nz/customer-services/general-transit-feed-specification/

Auckland Transport data covers Auckland region and is available in GTFS format from https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/more-services/google-transit-feed/

Data (in Excel format) not at transaction detail, but aggregated monthly for all of government at account item level. Annual figures also available. All individual government agencies also publish online their annual reports, typically in PDF format.
